WHAT IS NEW

The Eight Second Rule

The world has become a global village all thanks to the internet. With just a few clicks here and there, we can have all our groceries delivered to our doorstep or consult with a doctor about our recent slight cough or even meet the love of our lives (or a corn artist ), all this and more with just a few clicks.

Well as a business owner, an entrepreneur, a company’s adviser, or just a young mind wandering through the internet I bet you’re thinking about how you can turn those few clicks into revenue. Well, you can do this by establishing your online presence, and how better to do that than having a website?

A great website is like a good store with great service, a helpdesk, everything on display with tags of prices and discounts, a clear return policy, and customer loyalty discounts. So let’s break this down.

Firstly it should have an about us page to explain what your company does and how it came to be, this is the writing on the wall that talks about KFC’s secret recipe. It enables your audience to relate to your story and grow with your brand ( it is also a great place to add keywords for Search Engine Optimization, which we can talk about in the next blog post). Then on the homepage, there should be interlinks for all major products; just like how we all know we walk into KFC for its finger-licking chicken but the menu also has ice cream and different salad options because they make that too. Having a bit of everything on your homepage enables your clients to quickly head onto the page that interests them. This makes your site easy to use and items quick to find.

“Statistics state that a website user’s attention span lies somewhere around eight seconds”. In the time it’s taken you to read these opening lines, you’ve probably picked up your phone at least twice, were distracted by something in your peripheral vision, or started to mentally make a to-do list. Within those eight seconds, the user needs to find what they are looking for without going through numerous  pages. It is advised that we keep the three-click rule; this means your customer should only have to make three clicks to get to your product.

I am sure my eight seconds are up, but there is a lot more that you need to make your website great like; a call to action, a great payment integration, SEO, and blog posts. So how about you email us at (scherono@massappealdesigns.co.ke or jgithegi@massappealdesigns.co.ke) and let us take care of making all the clicks turn into $$$ for you.

Does My restaurant business really need a website?

Does My Restaurant Really Need a Website?

The answer is YES!

Your restaurant needs a website. In the 21st century, the fact is people don’t want to waste time physically browsing for a restaurant. Traffic is bad, Ubers are expensive, the price of fuel is highly inflated and that’s just scratching the surface therefore, it is no surprise that 90% of customers research online before eating out.

If you need more convincing on why you should get a website for your restaurant, we’ll do you a solid and give five!

First, a website is great for getting your name out there. When you go to Rome, do what Romans do. That being said, in the age of social media, you need to adapt or, forgive my being blunt, get canned! So get a website and get your restaurant’s name on people’s lips. And the good thing is, you have full autonomy of the image you want to portray on your website. You can put in the good reviews, the mouthwatering Mexican or Italian food you offer, your themed nights, etc.

Second, you can provide basic information on your website.  Saves both your time and the customer’s time, which they will come to appreciate and give you five stars for efficiency. You can leave your menu, location- and even add a map to the restaurant, operating hours, payment methods, it would be a disaster waiting to happen if they came with cash and you don’t accept that, perhaps because of the pandemic. Your customers will thank you for this.

A website is also an opportunity to increase business. How? You wonder! Well, you can register your restaurant as a local business on Google Place. Once you do, when people search for fast food restaurants or Chinese restaurants near me, your restaurant will appear. This, my friend, is guaranteed to bring customers your way.

Also, on your website, you have the opportunity to highlight your unique selling point. E.g., Why should you go to Korean restaurant ‘Us’ instead of  Korean restaurant ‘Them’? Because ‘Us’ offers a free bowl of Ramyeon for every meal ordered.

Lastly, in case it is not evident, people like to order in. This is why we have so many delivery apps coming up these days. I’m talking about Glovo, Jumia Foods, Uber, Bolt Foods, and probably a few others. Therefore, there is no reason your restaurant should be left behind. Get a website and offer customers an option to enjoy your fried chicken from the comfort of their homes.

Now as you consider that, take a look at some of the websites we have done for restaurants, admire and shoot us an email or give us a call.
